In a nutshell
From 21 to 28 March 2026: Splitboard WORKSHOP in Maurienne.
A week away from the world, at the pace of climbing skins, and the wild landscapes of Haute Maurienne where we will leave our tracks.
We will set up our base camp at the BodyGo Hostel in the Valfréjus resort.
Splitboarding in Maurienne is more than just a holiday. It is a tailor-made alpine adventure, combining the pleasure of riding, safety and discovery. For all those looking to push their boundaries without losing sight of the essentials: go for it.
Roadbook
From day one, the tone is set. Morning briefing, equipment presentation and check, avalanche transceiver safety review.
The chosen itineraries allow us to discover the raw and magnificent Maurienne region: large powder slopes, secret valleys, panoramic ridges… From the Thabor sector to Haute Maurienne, each day is a different immersion. This is where splitboarding really comes into its own: the freedom to choose your line, the satisfaction of earning your descent.
The six resorts of Haute Maurienne offer a wide variety of terrain, altitudes, exposures and microclimates, all less than 30 minutes from our base.
The Maurienne, with its suspended valleys, immaculate peaks and that rare feeling of being far, far away in a world apart. Splitboarding here is not just a sport. It’s a way of living in the mountains, humbly, as close as possible to the elements.
We can’t wait for the end of March to come so we can ride with you!
Beyond the ride, it is also a formative human adventure. Every evening, we share a hot meal at the lodge, review the day, and plan for the next one.
Every day, do as the guides do and prepare for the outing. On the agenda is a coffee break to discuss the current conditions and choose the ideal outing. What you will learn throughout the workshop: how to take into account the weather and snow conditions, as well as everyone’s physical condition and the group’s state of mind.
The idea of the workshop is to help you become independent: the participants manage the outing, and the guide is there to help and guide each decision.
Valfréjus is 20 minutes from Modane station, which is regularly served by TGV high-speed trains and TER regional trains from Chambéry.
Transfers from the station to the accommodation are scheduled for around 6pm, depending on everyone’s arrival times.
On the Italian border and in the heart of the Thabor massif, the Bodygo Hostel Valfrejus offers warm and cosy accommodation at the foot of the slopes. There is also a comfortable lounge and co-working space for discussions and workshops.
