In a nutshell
From Col du Lou to Pointe du Lamet.
The Mont-Cenis plateau, with its lake between France and Italy, is a unique and wild area. To the north, the Pointe de Ronce and its neighboring peaks form a cirque on a balcony above the lake, with 6 peaks rising to 3000m. A 2-day introduction to high-mountain climbing with bivouac or a 1-day race, a real skyline where you’ll be up close and personal with Bearded Vultures and clouds !

This original route offers perfect terrain for an introduction to mountaineering.
It is rated PD (not very difficult), with no real technical difficulties. You’ll have to use your hands in a few places to climb, but most of the time it’s a matter of walking on a ridge, sometimes rocky, sometimes snowy, with a final glacier route at the pointe du Lamet.
The views from the ridge are fabulous, but never impressive or too “gassy”. The variety of terrain encountered will sometimes require concentration, but we’ll always have time to contemplate the view.
We offer this race as a day trip, or as a two-day adventure.
You’ll need to be in very good shape for the fast option, as it involves swallowing 1900m of ascent! With the right motivation, it’s a great challenge !
Choose the bivouac option if you want to immerse yourself in the high mountains, with time to learn as much as possible from your guide, and above all time to contemplate this incomparable panorama. We’ll show you how to choose a comfortable bivouac site, with sunset and sunrise, and teach you the routines and techniques that make a night in the mountains a comfortable and unforgettable experience.
